Supporting our Veterans, Today and Every Day

Recognizing and Thanking Our Hometown Heroes for Their Service

SBD prioritizes honoring our hometown heroes, including current and retired military personnel in our community. The Redlands Veterans Day Parade is a once-a-year opportunity to do so. The Norton Air Force Base Museum is SBD’s daily tribute to the brave people who put service before self to protect our nation.

SBD is proud to sponsor the Redlands Veterans Day Parade, to be held November 11. We’re also excited that community members can enjoy the event in person this year, compared to seeing it on TV in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions. Learn more about this event and how community members can participate here.

SBD is where our region’s rich military history began. Veterans — now living locally and afar — worked on our airfield and in our greater community to protect and serve our nation. The Norton AFB Museum, located at SBD, is a tribute to the contributions the former base gave to San Bernardino and the Inland Empire.

From 1942–94, countless military personnel and civil servants worked at the base or passed through Norton AFB to meet our nation’s call for duty. The nonprofit museum is open to the public and admission is free, but donations are welcome. Location and opening hour details are here.
