Pup Pup Hooray for Getting Travelers on Their Way
— SBD’s Mission Support Therapy Dogs Provide Care and Comfort to Passengers
San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) has gone to the dogs in the most fun, furry, and friendly way. We’re excited to announce “SBD Mission Support,” which is delivering canine care and comfort to our passengers.
SBD has partnered with East Valley Therapy Dogs, a certified therapy dog program based locally in Redlands. These adorable pups and their handlers, now part of the SBD team, stroll through the terminal and spend time at our gates to share a friendly smile and a wagging tail. As travelers prepare to fly, these sweet and gentle canines can help alleviate any stress or discomfort they may be experiencing.
The Mission Support name hails from our airport’s rich military history. As the former Norton Air Force Base, SBD has come a long way from supporting and transporting service personnel, to flying our local community to faraway places in an easy, breezy way.
Take a paws and look out for and reach out to Mission Support the next time you travel through SBD. Our pups are here to greet you and give you a paw to lean on before you board your flight.
