Connecting with Our Community

The San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) team prioritizes connecting with our community and informing residents about the airport. SBD’s professional staff seek opportunities to offer presentations to school and community groups, and business and civic organizations, both at their locations and on the airport.

To start the year, SBD staff enjoyed connecting with community members both on-airport and at community events to discuss local airport activities:

• Presented to the Highland Senior Center, with more than 60 people in attendance, to provide an update on SBD’s ongoing progress in support of the community through new airline service, career opportunities, and contributions to economic development.
• Hosted an on-site meeting and tour with the Kiwanis Club of San Bernardino to review SBD’s past, present, and future role in providing convenient service and growing aviation careers.
• Welcomed students and faculty of nearby Curtis Middle School for an on-site meeting and airport tour to discuss aviation careers and SBD’s role as a good neighbor.
• Joined a panel at the 34th Annual Women in Aviation International Conference in Long Beach to share a personalized career journey and current role of supporting SBD’s people, passengers, and planes.
• Participated in the Norton Air Force Base Museum’s 10-year anniversary public open house.
• Visited the Smith Tech Academy, in Bloomington, to show and tell first, second, and third graders what it’s like to work at an airport.
• Represented SBD at the San Bernardino FoodFest and the Redlands Bicycle Classic.
• Participated in the San Bernardino Valley College CalWORKs Employment Fair to share valuable career opportunities at San Bernardino International Airport with SBVC students and community members.
