Connecting With and Supporting Our Neighbors

— SBD Team Out and About in Our Community —

Connecting with customers and community in their places and spaces is a highlight for the San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) team. Here’s a summary of who we met with during summer and fall.

CEO Michael Burrows and Director of Aviation Mark Gibbs proudly accepted the “Seriously Nice Airline Partner Award” from Breeze Airways at the airline’s annual partner summit in Salt Lake City in September. SBD received the recognition for its innovation and creativity in marketing and awareness campaigns, with one example the airport’s Cruising at Altitude concert, now in its third year.

Gibbs was a guest speaker at two business community meetings:

  • Loma Linda Chamber of Commerce’s July breakfast meeting held at the newly opened Courtyard by Marriott. He shared a message of SBD’s support to business travel and tourism and the related positive impact to the local economy.
  • Highland Area Chamber of Commerce’s networking luncheon in August held at the Spring Lake Clubhouse at East Highlands Ranch. Gibbs updated attendees on SBD developments and thanked them for using their local airport for their travel needs.

Airport Marketing Manager Amber Casarez tabled at two community outreach opportunities in October:

  • Rim of the World High School’s STEM Career Fair in Lake Arrowhead. She helped students understand how their passion for science, technology, engineering, and math can translate into good-paying, rewarding aviation careers.
  • 18th Annual Believe Walk in Redlands, which raises research funds for life-saving cancer treatments. Joined by Marketing & Event Coordinator Evelyn Martinez, they met with new neighbors and shared SBD’s support to this important movement.

SBD was a proud sponsor of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors’ 2025 State of the County held at the Ontario Convention Center in September. The event theme “Building a Stronger Tomorrow” celebrated how America’s largest county continues to be a top destination for business investment and jobs creation.

Please contact the SBD team to discuss opportunities for speaking engagements at your school, business or civic meeting, or to participate in your community event.
