Trend Talk 3Q25
Noise comments received from San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) neighbors in July – September 2025 (3Q25) reflect these trends:
- Compared to July – September 2024 (3Q24), there was a year-over-year increase in both the number of noise comments received and the number of distinct households filing comments. In 3Q25, 44 additional comments were received with 24 more households filing comments.
- Of the 152 comments filed in 3Q25, 78, 26, and 18 were geographically concentrated in the cities of Highland, San Bernardino, and Redlands, respectively.
- In comparison to April – June 2025 (2Q25), 36 more comments were filed and 18 more households filed comments.
The top five distinct households filing comments in 3Q25 reside in Highland, San Bernardino, and Fontana. Together, they filed 101 (or 66%) of the total comments.
Year-over-year noise comments related to SBD increased in 3Q25 and are attributed to:
- Continued jet aircraft operations at SBD
- Engaged and concerned community members seeking information about aircraft, and
- Ongoing community education and engagement about aircraft operations at SBD.
The Good Neighbor Program continues to be an important resource and outlet for airport neighbors, as well as a tool to educate pilots about neighborhood noise sensitivity.
