The IE's Winter Wonderland
— Out and About in Our Community —
A little winter weather isn’t stopping the San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) team from getting out and about in the community. With the backdrop of our region’s snow-capped mountains, we’ve been connecting with Inland Empire (IE) residents and business representatives to hear how they’re using SBD and what we can do to continue to elevate their travel experience. Here’s a recap of where we’ve been and who we connected with.
CEO Michael Burrows was a guest speaker at two recent community events, sharing information and updates on SBD’s support and service to the community: Highland Area Historical Society, and Arrowhead Business Watch with a particular message about SBD’s job creation and retention and the related economic development contributions to the region.
Director of Aviation Mark Gibbs met with California Retired Teacher’s Association members to share SBD’s progress in 2024—passenger activity, cargo trends, and business developments—and plans for 2025.
Director of Administration Catherine Pritchett welcomed students learning about construction careers at San Gorgonio High School, touring them around SBD and showing them how airports in general and SBD in particular offer skilled positions to meet their passions.
It was the best snow day ever as SBD partnered with our local radio station for the KROQ STORMS BEAR MOUNTAIN. Attendees were thrilled to win lift tickets and enjoy a free performance by the Linda Lindas, who proudly call LA home.
Airport Marketing Manager Amber Casarez played teacher for the day at Smith Tech Academy in Bloomington. She engaged with the elementary school students about careers in aviation as well as sharing how easy it is to fly out of SBD, their local airport.
Please contact the SBD team to discuss opportunities for speaking engagements at your school, business, or civic meeting, or participating in your community event.
