Noise comments received from San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) neighbors in October – December 2024 (4Q24) reflect these trends:
- Compared to October – December 2023 (4Q23), there was a year-over-year increase in both the number of noise comments received and the number of distinct households filing comments. In 4Q24, there were 24 additional noise comments received with eight more households filing comments.

- Of the 62 comments filed in 4Q24, 25 and 17 were geographically concentrated in the cities of Highland and Riverside, respectively, with nine distinct households filing comments between both cities during the quarter.
- In comparison to July – September 2024 (3Q24), there was a decrease in both the number of noise comments received and the number of distinct households filing comments. There were 46 fewer comments filed and one fewer household filing comments.

The top five distinct households filing comments in 4Q24 reside in Highland, Riverside, and Victorville. Together, they filed 36 (or 58%) of the total comments.

Year-over-year noise comments related to SBD increased in 4Q24 due to:
- Continued jet aircraft operations at SBD
- Engaged and concerned community members seeking information about aircraft, and
- Ongoing community education and engagement about aircraft operations at SBD.
The Good Neighbor Program continues to be an important resource and outlet for airport neighbors, as well as a tool to educate pilots about neighborhood noise sensitivity.
